Exporting generated tests

If you wish to re-use the Meticulous tests in another tool there are three main ways you can export tests from Meticulous:

  1. Via the Meticulous CLI by running npx @alwaysmeticulous/cli download session
  2. Via the Meticulous SDK by calling getOrFetchRecordedSessionData
  3. Via the Meticulous REST API at https://app.meticulous.ai/api/ by calling GET sessions/[id] (with your API token as the bearer token)

Sessions (tests) are returned as JSON, and have two main components:

  1. Network requests and responses. These are stored in HAR format and so can be used by most testing frameworks that support network stubbing, and are supported natively in Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge.
  2. User interactions. These are stored as JSON serialized UI events as per the W3C UI Events spec, and so are usable by most major testing frameworks, or by calling dispatchEvent in a browser.
